Keith Brett Keith is another former teacher at Slí Dhála CCÉ and has been part of the team that has developed this unique trad group workshop which is specifically tailored for teenagers who already have a good grounding in traditional Irish music and are comfortable learning new tunes. There is an emphasis on traditional music arrangement and performance, with the musical pieces chosen based on the musicians' experience and the instruments they play. Moving on to basic sound and acoustic theory, the unique properties of each instrument are investigated and the sound from each instrument is observed using software tools. The participants will learn about audio and lighting equipment as it applies to stage performances, in order to help them to become comfortable with performing on stage and using the equipment. Equipment will be available during the workshop and interaction is supervised. There is an emphasis on fun and experiencing new instruments and techniques. The workshop content is continuously updated so that repeat participants experience new modules in the workshop.
